What sparked your interest in community radio?
I saw it as a way of speaking to local people I may not have access to. I love music and the opportunity to play the music that I love is wonderful and I really enjoy it.
How did you feel about speaking on the radio prior to the first time you were live on air?
I was nervous and worried about saying the wrong thing.
How did you feel afterwards?
The first time I was a bit nervous about the controls more than speaking. I had great guests who really helped me on the first show. I now feel much more relaxed about the process.
What positive impacts upon your life did your HCR experience have?
I love the fact that HCR gives me the opportunity to talk to people about the work I do, to give health and wellbeing tips and information, and to invite other therapists and practitioners on to my show to talk about what they do. It’s all about spreading information I think. I’ve invited my grandchildren on one show and they had a great time. I do feel much more confident talking to people about what I do and who I am now.
